art|WORK is a project that focuses on women artists making a living through their art. It addresses the intersection of art and money to illuminate the difficulties many artists face earning a living through their creative endeavors.
Michelle Chapin has been a working California artist for more than 30 years. Her Ventura, CA studio is serves as a base for her own work and a showcase for other local artists. As a stone sculpture, she quarries many of the rare rocks used in her work from Southern California deserts. Presently she works on public and private commissions and teaches stone sculpture to Youth At Risk and private clients.
